The Hygge Box by Boxable

The Irish Chandler is a beautiful Irish-made candle range, hand-produced in the heart of Clare with love and attention, with a range of scents there is something for everyone and every occasion.

The Irish Chandler is the brainchild of one very hard-working female founder, Lisa Barnett. It was a business born out of curiosity and a keen interest in finding a better, natural way of fragrancing her home having moved to the West of Ireland. What was first just a small production for family and friends has turned into a thriving business among stockists across the country.

Sitting at her desk working, Lisa often used non-soya based candles and found they gave her and her family headaches, however with soy-based candles this wasn’t the case. She began researching and looking for, the best quality waxes and fragrances to finally find the perfect winning combination of cotton core wicks and natural soy wax. These combined with quality fragrance oils lead to longer clean-burning candles that are non-toxic and ideal for use at work or at home.

With a wide range of scents, Lisa has created a signature collection that continues to sell over and over again for her, at the Saturday morning market she started out in, online, and in various shops around the country. These signature candles are linked to her fantastic surroundings nestled between the Cliffs of Moher and the unique Burren landscape, it was no wonder she was inspired!

At Boxable we aim to champion small local Irish-based producers who fit in with our ethos, and Lisa as a member of the Burren Eco-Tourism Network has adopted several environmentally sustainable practices into her business over the last few years. So as a customer, you can be assured you are not only supporting local but you are also buying sustainably.

Teolaí - how the Irish pronounce Hygge

Whether it’s part of the employee appreciation box or you are looking for something different to add to a conference treat box, Lisa’s candles are a definite winner every time. We particularly love her Teolaí scent, which is described by The Chandler herself as “How the Irish say Hygge". What more can we say, it belongs in every box!
